WHERE WE ADVENTURE

    Arkansas (Fall and Spring)

    In our opinion, Northwest Arkansas is the best kept secret of the midwest. These 3 and 4 day trips take place in the Buffalo National Wilderness and the Ouachita National Forest. These are both great areas if you are new to backpacking, want a more leisure experience or just don’t have a ton of time. Some of the areas bring exciting things to see including abandoned cabins, waterfalls, climbs, numerous water crossings, old homesteads, and more.

    Colorado (Summer and Early-Fall)

    Not much needs to be said about Colorado. From navigating a mountain pass or descending into a valley and fishing from a freezing cold mountain lake to summiting one of numerous peaks, our 4-5 day trips in Colorado provide exceptional hiking and backpacking opportunities with stunning vistas and challenging ascents.     Wyoming (Late Summer)

    Picture yourself standing at the edge of a secluded high-alpine lake, a mountain creek flowing in from the higher peaks, a wildflower meadow visible from the other side of the lake. You do all this while fishing in one of the 13 different lakes on your itinerary. Wyoming never disappoints.

Drew is a certified Wilderness Medicine First Responder with hundreds of miles of trail experience so you can feel safe heading into the backcountry for a one of a kind expedition.

A Word From Your Guide and Our Founder

My name is Drew Davis. I am the husband of Carissa Davis and the father of four kids (Olivia, Maverick, Thea, and Hendrix). I am a Healthcare IT Executive professional and a lover of the outdoors. I get refreshed and rejuvenated in the outdoors and love to share that with others!

I believe that God created man to cultivate, subdue, and enjoy His creation. For me, whether I am hiking, mountain biking, fishing, backpacking, or competing in adventure races, being outside allows me to be closer and experience God in a new way. This is why I started Equipped Outdoors. I LOVE being outside. I love teaching, disciplining, and training leaders. I have heard it said, find out what you love to do the most and do that. Well, this always felt like a dream that would never come true, so I had to take a leap of faith.

I started Equipped Outdoors so men can get out and experience God’s creation the way it was intended to be enjoyed. I believe in the power of incorporating lessons of Leadership, Community, and Discipleship into the outdoor experience. My hope is to create opportunities for others to get outside, learn some skills, and let God change their lives.
